Rheinmetall NIOA Munitions Pty Ltd (RNM), a joint venture between Rheinmetall Waffe Munitions and NIOA Pty Ltd has established a state of the art forging and manufacturing facility in Maryborough QLD that will produce artillery shell cases and other munitions-related products for supply to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

What are we looking for?

RNM are now looking to add a permanent full-time electrician to the team who will support the maintenance supervisor and the maintenance team with commissioning and electrical works for ongoing operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Utilise the company maintenance management system to determine, complete and record tasks and activities.
• Plan and install new or replacement power supply cable, conduit, cable tray, support frames to equipment and buildings including but not limited to robotics, CNC machines, control cabinets, motors, generators, lighting and general power outlet fixtures.
• Positively isolate and de-energise power supplies in switch boards and rooms to ensure other employees can safely work on the equipment.
• Calculate correct cable sizes for power supplies to equipment and installing all electrical hardware required.
• Undertake trouble-shooting to diagnose malfunctioning equipment and electrical components including but not limited to breakers, relays, switches, control cards, motors, position sensing devices, transmitters, transformers, lighting fixtures, cabling and electric motors.
• Reads and understands wiring and instrumentation diagrams.
• Open and pro-active communication for sharing of information to fellow team members.
• Robot operation and programming knowledge and CNC equipment knowledge to execute associated works or the ability and desire to undertake on the job training with the view to meeting this accountability.
• Co-ordinate electrical contractor works.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

• Electrical trade qualification
• Current Qld electrical working licence
• Intermediate trade experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial
• Working knowledge of electrical legislation and codes
• PLC programming and automation an advantage
• First Aid
